Terms of the program include:
  • A one-hour information presentation on purchasing a home, including specific areas that a prospective purchaser should watch for regarding the property's condition. This includes such information as 1) Average life expectancy of major components in a home, including furnace, gutters; 2) What a home inspection will tell about the condition of the property you are buying; 3)Buyers' and seller' responsibilities during a transaction; and 4) Common household repairs
  • A question and answer session will follow
  • There is no charge for the seminar. However, because of scheduling and staffing considerations, requests should be made 45 days in advance
  • All seminars are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • Each seminar must have a minimum of 20 participants

He continued, "We are finding that both first-time and repeat home buyers are opting for home inspections in order to get a complete, clear picture of the status of the property they are think of purchasing."
