Tiger Home Inspection president, Carl Pucci, and principals, Sean and Jay Rizzo, each bring complex backgrounds that form the comprehensive business Tiger is today.
The company has been recognized by a number of organizations for its success and continued growth. In particular, Tiger has been honored by the United States Chamber of Commerce as a Blue Chip Initiative Enterprise winner, as well as
being a multi-year recipient of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce's "Success Profiles" designation. Both awards recognize companies for their growth and overcoming challenges.
The firm was initially founded by Joseph E. Rizzo, Sr., and Carl Pucci. Mr. Rizzo retired in 2003; two of his sons, Sean and Jay, continue the family tradition as principals in the firm.
In addition to home inspections, Tiger also provides commercial property inspection and has established a special division to meet those needs.
The company was instrumental in the formation of the Massachusetts Council of Independent Home Inspectors, created to help guide the process of licensing home inspectors, as well as other issues that are key to the industry.
In an effort to upgrade the industry standards, Tiger Home Inspection took a leadership role in requiring home inspectors to become licensed. Tiger Home Inspection members are represented in industry organizations such as NAHI, ASHI,
and MCIHI.
In addition to its role in the industry organizations, Tiger Home Inspection has developed educational programs to further the cause of home inspections. Tiger works with Bunker Hill Community College in teaching a home inspection course,
and offers private instruction as well as an ongoing lecture series for continuing education credits for inspectors.
Carl Pucci, President, is a founding partner of Tiger Home Inspection and the former Chief Financial Officer. One of the first home inspectors licensed in Massachusetts, he was instrumental in legislation that upgraded the standards,
qualifications and ethics by which inspectors industry-wide operate under today. He has personally conducted more than 7,000 inspections.
Mr. Pucci designed and implemented a proprietary, high-intensity home inspection course for Tigers staff, training more than 500 inspectors in the program. He has served as Education Chairman for the New England Chapter of the American
Society of Home Inspectors in New England. He is a founding member of the Massachusetts Coalition of Independent Home Inspectors.
Mr. Pucci is an instructor at various locations in teaching the skills of home inspection. He has worked with Bunker Hill Community College in the first public-private partnership to teach a course on the fundamentals of home inspection.
Sean Rizzo, Principal, Director of Marketing, is the second generation in the family business. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he earned a degree in Economics. He began his career as a Massachusetts licensed
lead inspector and owned and operated his own lead inspection company. He previously served as Vice President of Business Development for Tiger Home Inspection and brings more then 14 years of experience to the industry.
Joseph E. Rizzo Jr, Principal, also continues in the family business legacy. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering at Wentworth Institute, he began his career in environmental contracting, site operations,
and environmental applications. After a career with a regional environmental firm, he returned to the field of home inspection.
Mr. Rizzo is a Certified Home Inspector with 10 years of experience, and holds a Pesticide Applicator's License. He is a member of the National Association of Home Inspectors and the American Society of Home Inspectors.
